  • When is mold dangerous?

Mold is a growing concern for home and business owners because of the toxins it releases that can affect the immune system and cause other health problems.

Mold becomes more dangerous when there is long term exposure - and particularly to vulnerable populations like children, elderly and immune compromised.

Although any affects from mold display differently in each person depending on their individual tolerance level.

The best way to prevent any danger from mold is to properly eradicate it at the source.

  • Where could there be mold in my home or business?

Mold is often found in warm and moist conditions - but can also grow in dry places and spread due to their airborne spores.

Typically you'll find mold in basement, kitchen or bathroom areas.

  • How can I tell if I have a mold issue?

Most mold will not grow indoors without a  moisture source.

If you have had flooding or water leakage of any sort in your home or you're noticing an odor in damp areas like your basement - you should have a professional check for mold.

  • When should I get a mold inspection?

You should get a mold inspection any time you are taking action for mold rememdiation in your home.

Our experts send all samples to be tested in the lab and are certified to handle cases of mold by mold type to ensure you're getting rid of the root issue.

*Our technicians are trained by the IICRC and hold AMRT certifications (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician).

  • Can I test for mold myself?

There are at-home mold test kits available, but often the results are misleading and hard to interpret.

We recommend anytime you suspect mold in your home that you get a proper professional inspection.

  • Can I just use bleach to kill mold?

    No

Although you might get this advice for many well meaning people, mold can not be remediated by bleach.

Since mold is a living organism, you need a professional agent solution to kill it at the cellular level and not a simple cleaning agent that is designed to kill germs.

  • What's the difference between mold and mildew?

Mildew is a type of mold or fungus and often lives on shower walls, windowsills, and other places where moisture levels are high, like in basemesents. It typically produces a strong, recognizable odor.

Mold includes all of microscopic fungi, as well as mildew.
